I’ve said it before, but let me repeat myself, natural hair is dry. Well, at least my natural hair is dry. It’s a constant struggle to find products that keep my hair hydrated after it dries.
Dryness can lead to split ends and your hair feeling like a Brillo pad– not good!
When I heard Parnevu has products specifically for dry hair I had to try them. I’ve used this line before some time ago, but I can’t remember what the product was.
Parnevu was kind enough to send me full-sized bottles of the shining gel, leave-in conditioner and shampoo. I tried each of the products for two weeks just to make sure I could give a fair review.
First up was the shampoo. My initial reaction when I used this was, “oh yea, that’s what shampoo smells like.” I’m so used to using natural products that smell like citrus or herbs, I almost forgot what shampoo smells like.
Not that the smell of shampoo is a bad thing. Any who, I washed my normal two times and like usual, after my hair gets wet it’s nice and soft. The shampoo did make my hair feel clean, so that was great.
Next, I moved to the most important step for me: conditioner. I love thick, creamy conditioners and Parnevu’s leave-in does not disappoint. It’s blue and smells like it has tea tree oil in it, but it doesn’t. Also, I like the fact that you can use it as a leave-in after shampooing or as a daily conditioning treatment. After using the leave-in my hair felt soft for a few days, which is saying a lot for my hair.
I don’t always use gel on my hair, but sometimes I want to tame or slick down my edges. The shine gel held them down without making my hair stiff. It’s also good for taking a little bit and rubbing it throughout your hair for added sheen.
