Night at the museum

Last Thursday, (11/14) I had the pleasure of attending a Meetup hosted by Pattern and the Fashion Arts Society at the Indianapolis Museum of Arts.

For those that don’t know, Pattern is the fashion-forward group of Indianapolis. The group is filled with designers, graphic artist, photographers and those who love fashion. Learn more about  Pattern here.

They allowed members of the groups to get a sneak peek of the new exhibit, Majestic African Textiles. As a fan of African prints,  I was all about seeing this.

I don’t remember our docent’s name, but she was lovely and told us all about the African textiles. Like these kente cloths. If I knew how to sew, baby it would be on!

I was living for this silver scarf, honey! The docent said it was made with real silver and I believe it’s for weddings. I’d show up in that!
I just had to take a picture of this costume.
Again, if I could sew, this here mud cloth would a dress or top or something.
Do you have any cool fashion things going on in your museum?
