When I found the shirt in my picture above, I knew the manufacturer had me in mind. My shopping and fashion loving roots go way back. I remember shopping with my mother and grandmother until the stores closed. They would come home with bags and bags of beautiful new garments and accessories.
But make no mistake about it, while the shopaholic gene was passed to me, I am 100 percent a bargain shopper. I can’t even recall the last time I bought something for full price. If there’s a sale, I know about it. Coupons? No problem. My motto is: Never pay retail. Fashion gets recycled too fast to waste your money on trends. If you love to shop, or want to know who’s having a sale, stick with me kid and I’ll take you far!
Underneath my affordable frocks, I’m kind of a nerd. I love museums and aquariums (hello, Smithsonian and Shedd Aquarium) reading and I’m a bit of a foodie. I like to do all of my nerdy things with my husband, Vince.
The husband and I love trying new things, especially foods. Obviously, you can tell by the picture, lol. We have a YouTube page where we tell you all about new snacks and if it’s worth the money.
Vince and I have been married for nine years, and we met at the sheriff’s department through the county coroner. Don’t ask, lol.
When I first started this blog in 2011, it was about my weight loss journey. I was using the blog as a tool to keep me accountable. However, after so many posts about working out, what I was eating and my weight loss frustrations, I got bored. While I still wanted to lose the weight, I realized writing about it wasn’t my passion.
From then, I started incorporating fashion, lifestyle issues and other things I love. I’ve gone through blogging highs and lows, redesigns and more, but I found my niche and I’m happy to have this space to share it with you.
That’s just a little bit about me. You’ll learn more as you get to know me through my blog as I’m also a fan of pop culture. So, take a look around and visit often!
UPDATED: I’m now a mommy!!! *throws confetti* I had a little girl in March 2015, so expect me to talk a little bit about mommy things on the blog.
